Does anyone here play any browser text-based RPG/MMORPG games that involve using strategy long-term?

I'm struggling to find any active game communities that involve a real "storyline" as such... there's plenty of "idle" type games about, and ones where you just fight generic monsters and gain attributes/skill points/credits whatever to level up your character, but I'm struggling to find something that's a bit more immersive and community-based. (Think Torn, if any of you have ever given that a go!)

Any recommendations, ideas or discussions - more than welcome! :)

Those text-based games still have loyal communities, you just need patience to find them. Years ago, I spent months playing Torn and the strategy there was deeper than some flashy modern games. Everything revolves around economy, alliances, and long-term planning. The problem now is attention span because people want instant action.

Text-based games is not a patience issue, it's a boredom issue 😅 Our attention span has reduced but also the standards has improved too. People want visuals, immersion, something to hold their mind. Deep strategy is good, but if presentation is not engaging, you would get tired soon.
