General Is StarCraft or Age of Empires the better franchise?

This StarCraft vs Age of Empires debate can linger forever . Personally I lean more toward Age of Empires because it feels more relaxing. StarCraft is too intense sometimes. Just a little distraction can wipe out your whole base instantly. But i cant lie, StarCraft has deeper competitive vibes. That game shaped RTS esports completely. Honestly both franchises carried the genre on their backs while modern devs are busy simplifying everything nowadays.

I know StarCraft fans will fight me for this, but Age of Empires aged better for casual players. The pacing feels more realistic. You can build, explore and recover from mistakes. StarCraft feels like it was designed by people who got a lot energy, they are aggressive. I respect the skill ceiling, dont get me wrong, but not everyone wants that level of intensity.
