General Do you think Stormgate is the next big thing?

Stormgate is one of the rts games that is gaining traction amongst RTS fans. It was developed by Frost Giant Studios, which has got a lot of experience with devs from Blizzard Entertainment, Riot Games, and Electronic Arts.

Have you had an experience playing this game? How far do you think it will go?

It's hard to say for sure, but Stormgate has a lot of potential. The developers are veterans of the RTS scene, so they know what they're doing.

I have played Stormgate. It's a very good RTS which is also free-to-play. It's set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe and what makes it so good is how it incorporates old-school RTS tactics with modern ones.

You can't sustain a game on the hype alone. What will determine Stormgate’s future is three things:
1) onboarding quality
2). balance patches, and
3). post-launch consistency.

RTS communities are very sensitive to imbalance. If one faction dominates the ladder for too long, the competitive trust will drop.

The hype alone can't sustain anything. I’ve tried Stormgate beta and onboarding actually matters more than people think. If new players feel stupid in the first hour, they will never stay. I think the RTS community don't forgive nonsense imbalance. In this era, where the gamers attention spans are short, competition is getting crazier. If devs stay consistent and transparent, they will grow steadily. But if updates is slow, they might not see the light of the day.
