I bought Stellaris a couple of years ago, checked it out and had this reaction: "Looks really cool, but I wont have time to figure all this out for a few years. When I retire?"

Is it something I can get into in short 30-90 min bursts?
And as a follow up that I know is a loaded question: Are there any essential mods? Especially with the framing of limited time, haven't played a 4x since MOO.
