General Would you rather have a few elite soldiers or a massive army of weak ones?

I had a match now and I noticed something. My full army would just scatter when the enemy attacks. So, if there is no quality, those numbers don't mean anything. But at the same time, few elite soldiers will still get overwhelmed if the pressure is too much. Which one do you prefer?

Give me an elite any day. I hate managing crowds. Plenty of weak units can be very stressful. I prefer small and strong squad that I could control perfectly. I prefer quality over quantity.
