I hate Quick Time events. "Mash X to stay alive." No skill, no finesse, just hammering away at the buttons until the event is over. I often think of it as lazy game design and that there must be a better way to present an event such as this.

In the God of War series every boss fight ended with a QTE finisher. Rip off heads, gouge eyes, mash circle to brutally execute gods. It became a signature of the series until the 2018 reboot thankfully ditched them for good. The Siper-Man game from 2018 often triggered QTEs mid-action. They were mostly just there to keep cutscenes interactive, not challenging.

What do you think of QTEs? Love them? Hate them? Do you have any examples of good ones?
