You haven’t gone through the toughest turn based games if you haven't played Darkest Dungeon. That game will stress you mentally, not just strategically. It was a very tough game and somehow we still love it.
Without thinking twice, it’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown and I’ll argue this anywhere. The way one wrong move can wipe your whole squad makes the game so unique. It taught me to be accountable. I remember losing my best sniper and I just sat there staring at the screen like a moron.😂
